DALLAS – Conservative businesswoman and Republican candidate for Congress Genevieve Collins announced today that she has earned the endorsement of former Texas State Senator John Carona.
Carona was first elected to the Texas State Senate in 1997 and served the 16th district until 2015. During his time in the State Senate, he served as chair of the Transportation and the Business and Commerce Committees, and was elected President Pro Tempore. Before his time in the Senate, Carona served three terms in the Texas State House of Representatives beginning in 1990. He has received more than 400 awards for his public service, including receiving the Top 10 Legislator and Legislator of the Year awards multiple times. Carona is an accomplished businessman who founded association management firm Associa in 1979, where he currently serves as chairman and CEO.
“I served hardworking Texans and promoted their values for over twenty years, and I have no doubt that Genevieve Collins has what it takes to fight for those same values. As a businessperson myself, I believe in Genevieve because she is an accomplished businesswoman who has helped grow a company from 36 employees to almost 300. In Congress, I believe she will utilize her skills learned in business to serve us as a strong proponent for conservative values like protecting life and securing our border,” Carona said. “Genevieve is an energetic and consistent leader who can deliver results, not just empty promises. I believe that she is the obvious choice for voters in the Republican primary on March 3rd, and I’m proud to endorse her candidacy for Congress.”
